Waterfalls

Hikers come to the Columbia River Gorge year-round because it boasts the highest concentration of waterfalls in North America. Hood River is your gateway to waterfall paradise, with multiple trails that lead to these natural wonders.

Do you have romantic daydreams about waterfalls you can walk behind? 100-foot Tamanawas Fall is just off Highway 35 by way of a popular 3.5-mile loop trail. Maybe you want to visit Oregon’s highest waterfall? Head to Multnomah Falls to see a beautiful 620-feet falling water and multiple bridges for gazing and taking gorgeous pictures. Stunning Wahkeena Falls are nearby, and this gorgeous hike will lead you through a loop of just over 5 miles into stunning green mossy forests and picturesque planes of light, rain or shine.

Hoping to take a walk to remember? The meandering Eagle Creek Trail will lead you through more waterfalls than any other Hood River trail and bring you to beautiful Tunnel Falls. Maybe your group wants a quick and easy hike to take in all the Oregon beauty? If your answer is yes, head over to Bridal Veil or Latourell Falls. Both offer easy trails and breath-taking scenery as you walk beside local rivers and streams, sit on a bench for a peaceful pause on your journey, or pose for pictures at just the right moment for lifetime memories with your friends and family. Take a trip through the famous Oneonta Gorge to striking Horsetail Falls, a 176-foot waterfall named for its horse’s tail shape, or drink in the sights at the swimming hole basin of Punchbowl Falls.
