The vineyard is owned and operated by couple Patrik and Tess Barr, who have been making wine together since 1992. They first started with sparkling apple wine and have expanded to offer a diverse menu of red, white, rose and sparkling wines.
Besides being passionate about wine, the couple also shares a love of music. Tess Barr is an award-winning blues artist and has her own band, the Tess Barr Blues Band. You can purchase Tess’s CDs at the Hood Crest Winery.
One of the best things about Hood Crest is that it has a full kitchen. Offerings include a charcuterie plate, fondue, Caprese salad and handmade, wood-fired pizzas.
Tasting Room
Tess and Patrik opened their gorgeous headquarters building in 2016. The more than 8,000-square-foot building room has a tasting room, storage, pizza kitchen, commercial kitchen, wine making facility and performance space. The tasting room is kid and dog friendly. The tasting room and vineyard are beautiful places to host events such as weddings, work retreats and family get-togethers.
