Open year-round, the Hood River Farmers Market provides an incredible assortment of the locally grown fruits and vegetables and the diverse crafts of our region’s amazing artisans. More than 30 vendors gather together every week to offer a wide array of seasonal fruits and vegetables, locally raised meats, freshly prepared craft foods like honey, cheese, and breads, and specialty food offerings from local chefs and popular food trucks. A great event for the entire family, the kids will love themed activities and play areas, while adults can enjoy the fine crafts, live music, and community projects on display.
Tis the Season
The Hood River Farmers Market operates out of two venues, depending on the season. In winter (January-April), the market is open every first and third Saturday from 1-4pm inside Springhouse Cellars (1st and Cascade Avenue). As the weather warms, the market moves outdoors to its normal location in downtown at 5th and Columbia, with hours of operation shifting to every Saturday from 9am to 1pm, May through November.
Diverse Vendors
Sponsored in part by the Gorge Grown Food Network, the Farmers’ Market is devoted to increasing community and global awareness of food sustainability and independence. The market boasts an incredible lineup of local farmers, orchard proprietors, ranchers, bakers, horticulturists, brewers, and more. Choose from an amazing array of fresh produce, seasonal berries, prepared foods, and local crafts and gifts. Try the microgreens from NoBo, fresh cherries from Kupfer-Sexton Orchards, responsibly raised pasture meats and organic eggs from Horseradish Ranch, or the gourmet mushrooms from the Columbia River Mushroom Company. With dozens of friendly and eclectic vendors, there is something for everyone to enjoy.
Dinner and a Show
With live entertainment from some of the best local musicians, you can easily make a day of it at the market. So grab a seat by the stage and enjoy a treat like fresh Kainos cold brew coffee, Granny’s Fudge, or ice cream from The Gorge. The selections are endless, with plenty of gluten-free and vegetarian options. Plus, with live cooking demonstrations, you don’t have to be shy about asking how exactly you prepare your newly purchased heirloom summer squash, and just what exactly is broccoli rabe.
