Family Activities to Participate In
Take in the fall colors of the trees around you. Visit the WAAAM, or the Western Antique Aeroplane & Automobile Museum. Spend the afternoon exploring the nearby Indian Creek Trail, where the world is quiet, the sky is wide, and Mt. Hood looms over you in all its glory. Rain is common this time of year, so bring an umbrella. And if you get cold, get cozy in your rental home together and make some hot cocoa and coffee for everybody.
Adventures to Have Together
Hike the 3.6-mile round-trip loop starting from the Tamawanas Trailhead, all the way to a breathtaking waterfall. Go wine tasting at one of the countless amazing wineries in the area. If you follow the Fruit Loop, you’ll find over a dozen! Get your blood pumping by renting a bike and biking the Twin Tunnels on the Historic Columbia River Highway.
Thanksgiving Day and Dinner
Spend the day admiring the gorgeous Columbia River from Hood River Waterfront Park. Just enjoy the day together! Take a scenic drive along the Historic Colombia River Highway and enjoy the sights and sounds of the mountains in late November, when the Northern Hemisphere is about to head into winter. Have your Hood River Thanksgiving dinner at one of our favorite local restaurants, like Solstice Wood Fire, Bar & Catering, or Double Mountain Brewery.
